Green Building for Building Professionals

Learn-Build, the education arm of the four Chicagoland Home Builders Associations, will present Green Building for Building Professionals on March 10 and 11, 2009.

This class, taught by instructor Tom Stephani, will teach builders how to provide buyers with lower energy costs and higher value.  It will discuss strategies for incorporating green-building principles into homes without driving up the cost of construction and also how green homes provide buyers with lower maintenance costs, and better indoor air quality and long-term value.  In addition, techniques will be discussed for competitively differentiating your home products with increased indoor environmental quality as well as energy and resource efficiency.

Some skills you will take away from this class include (but aren’t limited to)

**Locate and design green building development sites

**Employ resource-efficient materials to achieve comfortable, safe and sustainable buildings

**Implement indoor and outsoor water conservation practices

**Apply successful business management, marketing and sales strategies to sell green..and much more.

The class is eligible for the following designations:  CGA & CGB

It is also counted as continuing education credit for CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGR, GMB, CSP, MCSP, CMP and MIRM.
