Chicagoland Flower and Garden Show

March 12, 2009

With the weather in the Chicagoland area being so cold recently, thoughts of gardens and flowers and everything related thereto have been crossing my mind a lot lately!  What about you?  Have you had enough of winter and have you given any thought to attending the Chicagoland Flower and Garden Show (CFGS)?  CFGS is an exposition of flowers and garden design, techniques and products currently being held until March 15 at Navy Pier.

Some of the special features of this year’s show include 25 lush themed gardens designed by top landscapers, more than 25 celebrity chefs who will be serving up favorite recipes and cooking advice, the Kids Activity Garden, where kids can burn off some energy while learning something about growing plants,  educational seminars and workshops about gardening, growing or landscape topics from Chicago’s top experts, “Potting Parties” where you’ll actually get to plant something with your fee benefiting local charities,  and much more.

One last thing…on Friday, March 13, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, there will be a “mix and mingle” — where, for $10 you will receive food, drink  and music — and get to walk around the show!
