Chicago Builders And Real Estate Professionals Must Utilize Social Media

social_mediaEveryone’s budgets are tight these days and Chicago real estate professionals and home builders are required to optimize what’s left of their marketing dollars.  The internet is a daunting and often perceived as an unquantifiable place to market your products, especially for smaller companies.  The most bang for your marketing buck is social media.  Internet marketing, or more appropriately social media marketing, is essential today more than ever because that’s where people are and that is where you can find future customers.

Print media is dead.  Take a look at your local paper or even the Chicago Tribune:  thin and frail.  Everyone by now is familiar with Social Media explosion of late, but not everyone understands how to utilize it as a business marketing tool.  Social media is not a fad and anyone ready trying to sell to Chicago home buyers must remind themselves that of the demographic aged 25-44 or Gen-X&Yer’s, 94% used the internet to search for homes according to the National Association of Realtors.  These groups are your current and future customers.

If that stat doesn’t convince you to ramp up your social media marketing efforts, 87% of all home buyers begin searching online.  Generation Y is the largest generation to come into the home market ever, larger than the baby boomer generation.   Can you guess where these people spend much of their time  online?  Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, etc.  Is your business marketing on these sites?  Do you have a Facebook fan page? If these areas are not on your marketing radar, they must be.  Real estate internet marketing takes professionals to show you the way of social media.

Believe it or not, social media is a more complicated proposition to execute successfully than just having a Facebook page, a custom blog, youtube or Twitter account.  There is an art to bringing these sites together with your website in a way that they compliment each other and help drive traffic to your website, to your sales office and eventually to the closing table.
