Chicago’s Belgravia Group Tours of 565 W. Quincy Condos

565wQuincyCondosChicagoland Real Estate Forum had the pleasure of taking a group tour of 565 W. Quincy, one of Belgravia Group’s newest developments located steps from the Loop and Union Station.  On Tuesday night, the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago held an event in the building’s Q Room, a recreation room complete with a half dozen pool tables, theater, bowling alley, gym and putting green.  The education and networking event ‘Save Green By Building Green’ featured speakers from Energy Star, NAHB Green Building Program and green verifiers Energy Diagnostics.

After the education program, we were given a tour of the 18 story rehabbed former textile warehouse.  Jonathan McCulloch, Project Manager for Belgravia Group, developer of 565 W. Quincy condos, was kind enough to take a group of industry professionals through the building.  The first stop was a unit on the 5th floor, an approximately 1171 square foot 1 bedroom plus den unit in the ‘loft’ portion of the building.  With 12-13 foot ceilings and exposed ductwork, where evidence of the building’s past use as a warehouse is clear and the terraces are set back within the building’s core.  Included with the condo is across-the-hall finished personal storage rooms.  Prices for these clean contemporary units start in the mid- $200′s.

After the lofts, we stopped quickly on the roof of the original structure or warehouse where there is an enormous common area complete with an outdoor lounge and grill.   Here, the addition of the tower portion of the building is visible in it’s ‘L’ shape and 11 stories with staggered steel balconies.

Next up was the new tower portion in a the northwest corner unit 6 on the 8th floor.  These units resemble a more traditional style condominium with floor to ceiling windows, exterior steel balconies.  All the finishes are luxury standards in every unit: granite tops, marble surrounds, stainless steel appliances and prefinished wood floors.

The Q Room however, is probably what sets this building apart from many in the area.  Feel like going bowling?  No problem as there are 2 lanes open 24 hours / 7 days a week.  Pool tables, a bar, gym, putting green and don’t forget the fussball tables.  Be sure to check out these new downtown Chicago condos on your way to Union Station or next time you’re in the neighborhood.
