New Homes In Old Irving And Portage Park Chicago

mayfaircrossingchicagoChicago’s northwest side has  seen a revitalization that much of Chicago real estate could only dream of.  Young (yuppie) families deciding to stay within the city limits to raise their children.  A throwback to the old days perhaps?  In many cases, yes.

As some Chicago neighborhoods gentrified with young professionals they brought with them the trendy cafes, restaurants and bars.  When these people came to ‘change’ the neighborhood, within a handful of years while their lives changed (ie they grew up) future family considerations began to change them and out to the suburbs they moved.  This is still common in neighborhoods such as Lakeview and Lincoln Park but some are deciding that maybe they can have a little bit of both and Chicago’s northwest side is providing them the close-knit community feel and close proximity to work that so many generation X and Y’s are looking for in today’s real estate market.

CA Development has captured this phenomenon with their three new neighborhood communities in the part of Chicago’s geography and they plan to stay here.   As commercial and industrial real estate continues its exodus to the suburbs and overseas, many urban infill opportunities have presented themselves.  Mayfair Crossing in Old Irving Park is a fine example of re-using land (a huge ‘Green’ consideration) and re-developing it for residential community development.  Near the ‘Six-Corners’ shopping center, metra and Blue Line elevated stop, residents can enjoy being in a quiet, neighborhood community surrounded by all the comforts of city living.

edgebrookglenchicagoFarther north, CA Development has existing homes ready for immediate delivery in their Edgebrook Glen neighborhood tucked next to a Cook County forest preserve.  These new homes in Chicago’s Jefferson Park / Edgebrook neighborhood are high end with fine finishes, modern style and open floor plans on wider than normal Chicago lots.  Most homes are in the mid-$500,000 range and offer families a way to to stay put in Chicago.
