The living is good at Mill Creek in Geneva on every level—especially the lower level, thanks to Shodeen Residential’s newest incentive.

Buyers will receive a free finished basement with any new home purchase made between December 1 and 31, 2009 at Mill Creek, a holiday season value worth thousands, said Mark Thomas, president of Chicago real estate’s Shodeen Residential.

“Every one of our homes provides a basement as a standard inclusion, and many of our residences include or offer the option of preferred lower level amenities like deep poured basements that provide nine-foot ceilings, or lookout or walkout elevations,” said Thomas, “Combine those built-in features with the added perk of a basement that’s finished at no extra charge and you have an unbeatable deal.”

Thomas said that today’s buyers are looking to maximize their living space and utilize square footage more efficiently.

“That’s why finishing your basement makes perfect sense,” he said. “Having completed living space on the lower level opens up a whole world of new possibilities beyond simple storage. In a finished basement, you can incorporate a second living area, fitness room, additional bedroom, home office, games area—you name it.” Thomas noted that Shodeen can customize each basement per the buyer’s preferences and tastes, adding in options and upgrades that fit the customer’s budget—including a fireplace, finished bathroom, wet bar and more.

The free finished basement incentive applies to early delivery homes as well as to-be-built residences in either the Tanna or Oakmont neighborhood in Mill Creek, Thomas added. Buyers can select from several distinctive and well-appointed floorplans. Base prices on single-family homes at Oakmont start in the upper $300,000s; Tanna single-family homes are priced from the upper $200,000s. In addition, a wide variety of pre-built homes are available for early delivery in all three neighborhoods.

Mill Creek voted tops

“We’re proud to have been chosen as the most preferred community in the suburbs,” said Thomas. “This honor reinforces what we’ve known for a long time—that smart shoppers get the very best value, finest amenities and most generous lifestyle perks at Mill Creek.”

In the category, Mill Creek beat out Del Webb’s Sun City in Huntley and Carillon at Cambridge Lakes in Pingree Grove by DRH/Cambridge Homes.
