1600 Museum Park Sells Its Chicago Condos Despite Housing Slump

December 07, 2009

1600museumparkchicagoNew home sales in Chicago real estate, especially communities of 10 or more condominium units, has plunged in the past year, 50% less than the same time in 2008.  Fortunately for 1600 Museum Park located on Chicago’s immediate south-loop, sales have stayed steady on their luxury condos.

The Tower includes all the luxury amenities a high-end condo buyer would expect: exercise rooms, sauna and spa, indoor and outdoor pools, indoor heated parking and 24 hour doorman.  What it may have that other luxury condos near Chicago’s loop might not have is location, location, location.  Situated walking distance from the museum campus and Soldier field; at the southern end of Grant Park, with spectacular views of Lake Michigan, its little wonder why it has sold more than half of its 274 units.

1600 Museum Park was built as part of the Central Station project and it is currently the second tallest all residential building in the United States.  Prices start at $273,000 for a one bedroom and two-bedroom plus den units are priced at $365,000, both a great deal for the type of quality and luxury a buyer gets at 1600 Museum Park.  If you plan to upgrade your new condominium, you can spend upwards of $700,000 if you’re so inclined.  The tower was designed by PappageorgeHaymes Partners with floor to ceiling glass panels to exploit the amazing views.
