Wrightwood Crossing Lincoln Park Condos Seeking LEED Certified Platinum

wrightwoodcrossingchicagoBuilt on the former site of the Crouch Walker Building, this 19-unit building’s green goal is to reach the LEED platinum standard set by the United States Green Building Council.  Located just 3 blocks west and equal distant from the Diversey and Fullerton stops on the Brown and Red lines of the El, it is a modern Lincoln Park gem in new construction.   Consisting mostly of 3 bedroom and up size units, all with at least 2 full bathrooms a few are as large as five bedroom, 2 level units.  One of a few green Chicago condo buildings on the north side waiting for the certification process to complete, both offer the latest green building technology in Chicago real estate.

The Crouch Building that formerly occupied the site was reportedly disassembled and recycled to local processing centers to minimize demolition impact and some materials were reused at the site.  Interior features include bio-insulation with the highest R-value, an air barrier wall system with closed-cell foam and high efficiency HVAC (non-HCFC refrigerant).  Also featured in the project are water efficient toilets and fixtures, Energy-Star rated appliances, an eco-efficient elevator, and Certified Forest Stewardship hardwood.

Wrightwood Crossing features include brick, stone, wood and metal contemporary exterior, heated garage with deeded parking and bike storage included expanded depth parking spots for additional storage, computer controlled stainless steel elevator, U.S. Green Building Council LEED Platinum Certification, goal over-sized private terraces or balconies for each unit, private rooftop garden for each penthouse unit and a spacious green-roof common deck, professionally landscaped private yard, fire suppression sprinkler system throughout entire building, superior sound insulation system and commercial grade low E insulated window system.
