Do you know what plants are native to the Chicago area? Did you know that native plants need less water, fertilizer and energy to grow and also can help increase storm water infiltration and carbon sequestration?

Learn how to bring native plants into your garden through this organic gardening workshop.

Landscaping with Native Plants is an Organic Gardening workshop provided by the Chicago Park District at the Kilbourn Park & Organic Greenhouse that can teach you how to create a native landscape and bring beauty, birds and butterflies to your yard.

Becky Schillo, of the Chicago Park District, will discuss design and planting techniques for introducing native plants into your landscape, as well as where to find native plants, plant selection and basic maintenance.

Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
