Streeterville Condos Reduced 30 Percent

March 30, 2010

Only 15 condominium units remain for sale at 550 St. Clair in Streeterville, where prices have been reduced for final closeout.

Condo prices at 550 St. Clair have been slashed for final closeout.

The 26-story, 112-unit glass tower is located on the southwest corner of St. Clair and Ohio Streets, just off the Magnificent Mile, a short walk from Navy Pier and three blocks from Lake Michigan.

Most of the remaining condos for sale in the high rise have three bedrooms, but there are still studio, one- and two-bedroom units available. Studios now start at $199,900, a 33 percent reduction from the original price of $298,500; three-bedroom luxury penthouse units start at $1,399,900 after originally being priced at $1,998,500.

Designed by modern architect David Brininstool of Brininstool + Lynch, the units have hardwood floors throughout, 10- or 11-foot ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning panoramic views of the city. Most units have a private balcony, private terrace or both.

Both the interior and exterior of this modern piece of architecture were designed with flexibility in mind. Pocket doors slide into the wall to open up or close off rooms, and the two- and three-bedroom condos can be configured in different ways according to the needs of the buyer.

Got animals? This building, which has a 24-hour doorman, is pet friendly and even has a dog run.

Residences begin on the ninth floor, with floors below dedicated to parking, which costs extra, and 4,500 feet of retail space.

The sales gallery is located at 552 St. Clair and can be reached at (312) 222-0550. Grab a great deal in Streeterville!
