Triangle Park Townhomes

Former Chicago Bears safety Shaun Gayle sold his Chicago townhome while it wasn’t even on the market.

Gayle bought the 1,660-square-foot home — Unit I in Wicker Park’s Triangle Park Townhomes development, 1530 N. Elk Grove Ave. — for $390,000 in 1997, listed it for $725,000 in July and took it off the market in November. He sold it for $700,000 on April 14 to Harley Esposito.

The three-story townhome has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, two wood-burning fireplaces, a rooftop deck and a three-car garage.

Shaun Gayle

Gayle, 48, played 11 seasons with the Bears from 1984 to 1994 and was a captain of the Super Bowl XX championship team in 1985. During that postseason, he returned the shortest punt for a touchdown in NFL history. He retired from the NFL in 1996 and is now a successful businessman and children’s book author. He is also a studio analyst covering the NFL in Europe.
