Free Fix-Your-Mortgage Event Set for July 24

July 13, 2010

In an effort to help struggling homeowners, a free foreclosure-prevention event has been scheduled for July 24 on Chicago’s Southwest Side.

“Fix Your Mortgage” is a free event designed to help qualified homeowners modify their loans and keep their homes.

Sponsored by the Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS), the City of Chicago and Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. (ATG), the event will give homeowners an opportunity to meet with volunteer real estate attorneys, City of Chicago staff, NHS staff and HUD-certified counselors to determine if they qualify for assistance under the Making Home Affordable program.

If a homeowner qualifies, a loan modification application will be prepared and submitted that day.

Seems like it’s worth a try!

If you are planning on going, be sure to register in advance as registration at each event closes by 12:30 p.m. or when 1,000 homeowners have been assisted.

What: Fix Your Mortgage Event

When: Saturday, July 24; 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Little Village Lawndale High School, 3120 South Kostner, Chicago
