Illinois Resident Could Score His Own Sears

August 31, 2010

You can help decide who gets their own Sears store.

Sears Hometown Stores and Maytag Brand Appliances held a contest called “Operation Stores and Stripes” with the goal of finding the most deserving U.S. military veteran in the country.

The winner gets their very own Sears Hometown Store.

Edward Schrank

The contest, which started in May, has gone through three rounds and is down to two finalists:

*Edward Schrank from Rochelle, Illinois

*David Wheatley of London, Ohio

“After a long and challenging competition, we are down to the final two contestants,” said Will Powell, president of Sears Hometown Stores. “We had so many strong candidates participate in this program over the last four months. We are extremely proud that one of these U.S. military veterans will be joining the Sears Hometown Stores family.”

Now it’s up to us consumers.

Vote on the Sears Hometown Store Facebook page for your favorite in a poll located on the Causes tab.

You can automatically vote for Edward Schrank — afterall, he’s from Illinois! — or you can find out about both contestants and pick whomever you like best. I’m sure they are both amazing people.

The winner will get:

*A Sears store location and license

*The first 90 days of the lease

*90 days of operating cash flow

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Good luck contestants! See you soon at Sears.
