Modern Homes Debuts New Model at Amber Shores in Lake Villa

October 16, 2010

Amber waves of grain may be worth singing about, but the real music to buyers’ ears can be heard at Amber Shores in Lake Villa — Modern Homes’ community of 31 single-family homes, where The Brentwood, a new Premier series fully furnished model home, recently opened.

Spaciously designed and generously appointed, The Brentwood features three levels of living space providing three bedrooms, two baths, a family room and a den (with an option for a fourth bedroom) in the lower level.

“We put a lot of thought and hard work into redesigning this all-new split-level home, which had been our most popular design for years due to the smooth, open flow of the layout and affordable price,” said Beth Van Dyke, sales manager for Modern Homes.

From families with small children to empty nesters, “The Brentwood can accommodate virtually any type of buyer,” she said. “And this model showcases the value-added standard amenities built into every home we craft, particularly our Premier series, which offers a lot of home for the money.”

Visitors can also tour a second furnished model, The Auburn ranch, which represents Amber Shores’ more upscale Executive series homes.

In all, Amber Shores buyers can select from seven different ranch, tri-level and quad-level Premier series homes and eight distinctive ranch, one-and-a-half-story, and two-story Executive series homes. Among the standard inclusions in every residence (depending on the home selected) are three to four bedrooms, one to three baths, lower level, kitchen with a breakfast nook, family room or great room, living room, dining room, covered front porch, and 1,106 to 2,532 square feet. Several homesites back up to preserved conservation areas and a walking path. Base prices start at $182,640 (all prices subject to change without notice).

For a limited time only, the next five purchasers will only pay builder’s cost on the to-be-built home of their choice at Amber Shores—the most generous incentive Modern Homes has ever offered, which equates to thousands in savings.

You can also choose from a number of upgrades and options, such as a finished basement, screened porch, rear deck or patio,” said Van Dyke. “Plus, we can also customize any design to suit a buyer’s tastes and preferences. For example, we modified one customer’s home from a three-bedroom configuration to a two-bedroom with a larger master suite and walk-in shower.”

Additionally, Modern Homes is a Certified Green Professional builder, and every home built is designed to meet IECC Energy Conservation codes, some of the features of which can include R-19 insulation in exterior walls, low-E windows, insulated foundations and 95 percent efficient furnaces.

Amber Shores, which is now 25 percent sold, offers homeowners a variety of community perks, including a walking trail, basketball court and playground, a convenient location within Gavin School District #37, and close proximity to the Chain O’Lakes and nearby forest preserves.

Sales for Amber Shores are being conducted within the model at 37711 N. Amber Way in Lake Villa—located off Rt. 59, a half mile south of Rt. 132. To reach the community, take Rand Rd (Rt. 12) west to Rt. 59 and head north; turn left onto Amber Way and proceed to the model. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays or weekdays by appointment. For more information, phone (847) 973-8886 or visit www.Modern-Homes.com.
