Want to live in Billy Corgan’s Chicago home? If you don’t want to buy it for $3.55 million, now you can rent it for $10,000 a month.

He first listed the vintage unit for sale in September 2008 for $5.5 million before reducing it to $4.35 million in April 2009, then $3.875 in October 2009, then $3.55 million in February of this year.

Now, according to the Chicago Tribune, he is offering it to interested renters for $10,000 a month.

The full second-floor unit is one of nine condos located in the Patterson-McCormick Mansion, a converted residence that was:

*Built in 1893 by Stanford White

*Received an addition in 1927 by David Adler

*Was converted into condos in 1978 and has been completely renovated

*Is a beautiful palazzo made with orange Roman brick and terra-cotta trim.

There are only six rooms in Corgan’s unit, but they are large, and the home boasts 3,700 square feet of space.

Corgan's porchHe’s got has two bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a reception room, a David Adler library, an oak-paneled living room, four wood-burning fireplaces with beautiful mantles, a private balcony, a large terrace, walnut parquet floors and ceilings over 10-feet high.

What? You want to buy Corgan’s condo but need more space? Well, it just so happens that the condo directly above his unit also is for sale. The asking price on that 3,700-square-foot unit is $3.5 million.

Unit #7 is similar to Corgan’s #6 except:

*#7 has a third bedroom, which is being used as a library/office.

*#7 includes a living room/dining room combo; #6 has a separate dining room.

*The monthly assessments on #6: $2,227; on #7: $1,943

*#6 paid $22,921 in taxes in 2008; #7, a mere $19,982.79 that same year.
