Producers reached out to the International Society of Appraisers for location ideas for the show and were directed to the board’s president, Judith Martin, who, along with her mother and daughter, run a Wheaton store called “The Perfect Thing.”

Described as a vintage treasure by TLC, the store, and its owners, are the stars of the show, which premieres tonight at 9 and 9:30 p.m. on The Learning Channel.

The show focuses on the three generations of owners while they manage the store, visit estate sales and find buried treasures throughout Illinois, including in a burned-down restaurant and barn.

Some customers who bought or sold items at the store will also be on the show, which was filmed over a three-month period.

In the first episode, the three ladies find a mysterious tin inside a 1920’s flapper purse. What’s in the tin?!?

Tune in tonight and see.
