Great Rooms Wins Gold for Hernandez Master Suite

November 17, 2010

Chicagoland Real Estate Forum congratulates Great Rooms Designers & Builders for winning a Gold Key Award in the category of “Excellence in Remodeling Room Addition Under $100,000” for the Hernandez residence’s master suite addition.

The client is a young, suburban family that wanted a luxurious master suite but didn’t want to move from their current 1978 house, which they purchased 10 years ago.

Great Rooms had renovated the family’s kitchen and family room in 2009, so it was natural for them to want us to build their master suite addition as well. They came to us with architectural plans that called for building out over their existing garage, thereby expanding the second floor approximately 400 square feet to include a master bedroom, large walk-in closet and bath. The master bedroom features a tray ceiling, ample “his” and “hers” closets, and Bathroom with spa tub, oversized shower, compartmentalized commode and separate vanities.

In a recent email to me, the clients described their master suite addition as follows, “Beyond wonderful. It is everything we hoped for and more. Very very pleased with how it turned out.”

The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago Key Awards were created in 1972 to recognize excellence in housing design, architecture, interior merchandising, remodeling and landscaping. It has since evolved into one of the premier housing programs in the country.
