John Robert Wiltgen Design Wins Gold for Trump Tower Penthouse

November 17, 2010

Chicagoland Real Estate Forum congratulates John Robert Wiltgen Design, Inc. for winning a Gold Key Award in the category of “Interior Design Residential Space” for a unit on the 86th floor of Trump Towers in Chicago.

The penthouse was purchased as a white box (framed and drywalled only) but lacked a kitchen, bathrooms, lighting, floors, doors and all other finishes. This presented a great opportunity for our design/build firm. We prepared the architectural drawings, enabling us to obtain the construction permit and served as the general contractor. We also purchased every piece of furniture, artwork and accessories.

To make the space feel as large as possible (and to provide an interior made for entertaining on a large scale) we eliminated several walls. Continuity was established throughout the home with the use of Persian Travertine flooring and windowsills and supple ivory leather. We specified exquisite finishes throughout to reflect the Trump Tower Chicago lifestyle.

The architect for this project was John Robert Wiltgen Design.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago Key Awards were created in 1972 to recognize excellence in housing design, architecture, interior merchandising, remodeling and landscaping. It has since evolved into one of the premier housing programs in the country.
