Levy Wins Gold for New Chicago Area Home

November 17, 2010

Chicagoland Real Estate Forum congratulates Levy Custom Homes for winning a Gold Key Award in the category of “Excellence in New Construction; 6,501 square feet and over” for the redevelopment of a Chicago area home.

As we sat down to begin the planning, this client had a list of spaces for the first level that would have required a lot twice the size. They also thought that 4,500 square feet would be a good size for the home. Needless to say, this was impossible. They are also art and sculpture aficionados, so the house would have to be somewhat of an art form as well. The client wanted some technology but was also afraid of too much. With prodding from one of their sons, they ended up with 17 TVs and DVRs, seven exterior cameras, a last-minute theatre and touch screens to monitor the house’s technology! A meteorologist created a custom mailbox and range hood. Curved wood crown molding was fabricated on the East coast.

Our client feels that all the special details throughout make their home a work of art.

The architect on this project was Culligan Abraham Architecture.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago Key Awards were created in 1972 to recognize excellence in housing design, architecture, interior merchandising, remodeling and landscaping. It has since evolved into one of the premier housing programs in the country.
