What’s Thanksgiving in Chicago Without a Parade?

Two parades in one week. Chicago is holiday central these days.

On Saturday, there was the 19th Annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, where more than 800,000 people came to Chicago’s Mag Mile to watch Mickey Mouse sit on a float in downtown Chicago.

Cookie Monster BalloonOn Thanksgiving, Santa Claus will be one of the main attractions during the 77th Anniversary of the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade, which will march down State Street from 8 to 11 a.m.

More than 400,000 people are expected to turn out for the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade, which is the only parade in the city of Chicago that features inflatable balloons every year.

The Grand Marshal of the parade will be actress, and native Chicagoan, Jennifer Beals.

The show will go on regardless of the weather, so dress appropriately.

And, if you don’t want to stand out in the cold at 8 in the morning on Thanksgiving, you can watch the action live on WGN-TV.
