Start the New Year Off Right in Chicago

December 31, 2010

Here is a great way to kick off a healthy new year while helping a Chicago neighborhood organization at the same time.

Participate in a 5K on New Year’s Day.

A portion of the proceeds from the 26th annual New Year’s Day 5K Run & Walk will benefit the Lake View Citizens’ Council, a non-profit civic organization that has been serving the Lakeview community on the north side of Chicago since 1952.

Every one of those 1,500 participators will get a long-sleeved New Year’s Day 5K commemorative t-shirt.

After the event, there will be a party at Sedgwick’s Bar & Grill, 1935 N. Sedgwick St., Chicago, where all participants can enjoy a free drink (that includes a beer to those of legal age!).

Sounds like a great way to start 2011.
