January 08, 2011

Anyone interested in Chicago real estate can now read real data about it.

Chicago Agent magazine has released its fourth edition of Real Data 2011, a residential reference guide covering the Chicagoland real estate market from January 1 through October 31, 2010.

Real Data is filled with statistics about the real estate market in the six Chicagoland counties:

It offers a breakdown overall and by county on price-reduction totals, inventory and absorption, and it includes, for the first time, lists of the highest-priced homes that closed during that time period.

Real Data also presents the top 20 agents and brokerages in each county and overall.

We’ll get you started on the stats.

Throughout the six-county Chicagoland real estate market for the first 10 months of 2010:

*Highest-priced Chicago home to sell: 1866 Howe St.; $8.5 million

*Top Brokerage company: Lincoln Park’s Coldwell Banker Residential, 1840 N. Clark, Chicago

*Top Agent: Michael Holtorf of Equity Brokerage Services, 303 W. Madison, Chicago

All the Real Data information was obtained by LeapRE-Chicago’s Real Estate Data Experts, Edward Foster & Company, individual brokerages and agents and MRED LLC.
