As a Chicago resident, how many of the city’s attractions do you frequent?

Well, lions and tigers and bears, oh my: Many of Chicago’s zoos and museums have set up free admission days so that you can experience a lot of what our fabulous city has to offer.

Check it out:

Offering free general admission throughout January and February on:

*Tuesdays

*Thursdays

*Saturdays

*Sundays

Museum of Science and Industry

*January general admission is free on all weekdays

*General admission is also free on February 1, 8, 14, 15, 22

Shedd Aquarium

*General admission is free every day from January 16 through January 21

*General admission is also free every Monday and Tuesday in January

*Shedd members can bring extra guests for $5 through January and February

Offering free basic admission days:

*January 10, 11, 13, 18, 19, 24, 26, 31

*February 2, 3, 8, 9, 14, 15, 17

Adler Planetarium

General admission is free:

Art Institute of Chicago

*Free admission every weekday now through February 4, including until 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday

Chicago History Museum

*The museum is free on Mondays, including January 17 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Museum of Contemporary Art

The DuSable Museum of African American History.

*This museum is closed on Mondays, but offers free Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

*The museum offers free admission every Sunday of the year

Chicago’s Children’s Museum

*Located at Navy Pier, this children’s museum offers free admission on the first Sunday of every month for kids ages 15 and under, as well as free admission for everyone on Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m.

Hi, this is Katelynn Riordon at the Chicago History Museum and I was looking at your website and it states that we have free Mondays. As of July 1, 2011 we will no longer have free Mondays. Here is a list of days that will be free through the end of the year.
List of free days after July 1st.

9/12-16/2011
9/19-23/2011
9/26-30/2011
10/3-7/2011
10/10-13/2011
