Shodeen Introduces Two New Home Designs at Mill Creek

For years, Shodeen Homes kept their winning floorplan formula virtually unchanged at Mill Creek, its master-planned, golf course community in Geneva featuring semi-custom single-family homes. Now, to help kickoff its 50th anniversary year, the builder has decided to make what was already a great portfolio of home styles even better by rolling out two all-new two-story designs at Mill Creek that cater to popular demand.

In Mill Creek’s Oakmont neighborhood, the new design catching the eyes of customers is The Hudson: providing three bedrooms—including a first-floor master bedroom—two-and-a-half baths, den (which can be converted into a fourth bedroom), family room with a fireplace, dinette off the kitchen, formal dining room, full basement, front porch, two-car garage and 2,380 square feet, base priced from $375,950 (all prices subject to change without notice).

In the Tanna neighborhood of Mill Creek, the new kid on the block is The Hartford, boasting four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a family room, formal dining room, kitchen with dinette area, full basement, two-car garage and 2,445 square feet—base priced from $329,950.

“After taking a closer look at the market and carefully considering feedback provided by our customers, we developed these two exciting and fresh designs,” said Joelle Tilche, General Sales Manager for Shodeen Homes. “Our goal was to expand our product offerings, which would also create more diversified streetscapes and elevations from block to block within Mill Creek.”

The Hudson, she noted, was created primarily in response to a strong call from home shoppers seeking more layouts with first-floor master bedrooms.

“It’s quite a nicely arranged home that emphasizes open flow between the kitchen-dinette area and the family room, as well as a buffer zone between the master bedroom and other first-floor areas, which enables greater privacy,” Tilche said.

In The Hartford, meanwhile, the emphasis was on beefing up the size of the secondary bedrooms, “which many families appreciate—especially those with middle schoolers and teenagers who crave greater elbow room,” she added. “And the long flow between the family room and the kitchen-dinette in this plan evokes a greater sense of depth and spaciousness.”

With 2011 representing Shodeen Homes’ golden anniversary year, Tilche said the introduction of the two new designs comes at an ideal time.

In the Tanna neighborhood, shoppers can pick from several distinctive luxury single-family to-be-built homes, base priced from the upper $200,000s (all prices subject to change without notice). Additionally, shoppers can pick from several inventory homes that are move-in ready.

Buyers seeking to move in early can pick from a number of inventory homes available for immediate delivery at Tanna, each of which comes with significant upgrades like hardwood floors, fully sodded homesite and 42” cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops in the kitchen, including:

• A Prairie Ranch IV, at 0N453 King Dr. and at 0N482 King Dr., each featuring three bedrooms, two baths, three-car garage, golf course home site, front porch, full basement and brick fireplace. The former offers 2,027 square feet and is priced at $360,048; the latter spans 2,033 square feet and is priced at $372,096.

• A Parker XL, located at 40W061 Chadsworth Drive. This home has four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, full basement, three-car garage and 2,714 square feet and is priced at $379,449.

Shoppers also can choose from several distinctive luxury single-family home styles that can be built in Mill Creek’s Oakmont neighborhood, base priced from the upper $300,000s. Like Tanna, Oakmont has move-in-ready residences available.

Mill Creek provides a country club lifestyle, offering 36 collective holes of golf, on-site schools, retailers and quality-built residences spread across several different neighborhoods, said Tilche.
