View the Chicago Real Estate Market Through the Eyes of Technology

February 07, 2011

Seeing Chicago real estate has come a long way.

On Tuesday, the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE) is hosting its Second Annual Virtual Tour of the Chicago Industrial Market in Rosemont.

Since 1995, the group has hosted the AIRE Bus Tour, where participants were given guided tours by bus of various markets in the Chicago area.

Last year, the real estate group broke out new technology and created a virtual tour of their presentation. It was a success.

State-of-the-art mapping software from Google Earth and others were used to create this year’s 45-minute virtual tour, which will highlight the 110-million-square-foot O’Hare Market as well as more than 30 industrial Chicago-area properties.

Ah, the power of technology.

The market tour will include a review of continuing projects in the Chicago area including:

*The new casino in Des Plaines

*The O’Hare modernization program

*The East-West bypass

*The new runway configuration

The cost to attend the AIRE Virtual Market Tour is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. You can pre-register through 10 a.m. on Tuesday. There is also on-site registration available.

Check-in begins at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The program will take place in the auditorium at 2:30 p.m. There will be a networking reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at on-site Carlucci’s Restaurant. Your registration includes two free drinks.
