Nominate Great Chicago Real Estate

February 10, 2011

New Chicago real estate developments and rehab projects improve our neighborhoods and make our city a better place to live.

The Chicago Association of REALTORS is looking for a few good projects that fit that bill.

The Association is currently taking nominations for its C.A.R. 2011 Good Neighbors Awards.

Good Neighbor Awards recognize projects that make a difference in the community and take steps to fit in with the streetscape.

Nominations can include all types of real estate in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs:

This 18-unit condo building and retail space at Elston and Roscoe replaced an abandoned restaurant and won a 2010 GNA.

*Single family homes

*Condo buildings

*Multi-unit development

*Rental buildings

*Commercial and industrial spaces

*Retail space in a building

*City of Chicago affordable housing

*Green/LEED certified

*Historical landmark

*Open Spaces, including parks, playgrounds and community spaces

The properties must fall into one of four categories:

This is the before shot of that rehabbed property at 3028 W. Roscoe in Chicago.

*New construction

If you know of a project that fits this criteria, nominate it at chicagorealtor.com.

The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on Friday, February 25.

The award-winning projects will be announced at a Good Neighbors Awards reception, and with the award comes results.

According to CAR, “Award-winning projects receive positive attention that can enhance neighborhood growth and increase home sales.”
