Happy Valentine’s Day, Chicago Procrastinators

February 14, 2011

If you have yet to get your Valentine a present, we have a good excuse for you: The event in which you are getting the gift hasn’t even happened yet.

The Chicago Wolves’ wives and girlfriends are hosting their annual Valentine’s Day puck fundraiser at three upcoming games:

*Saturday, February 19

*Wednesday, February 23

*Saturday, February 26

Go to the lower concourse of the Allstate Arena during one of those games and you can buy a commemorative Valentine’s Day puck for $10.

The pucks, which are packaged with candy, are autographed by a Wolves player. If the signature is in gold, you get to meet that player after the game.

If your Valentine is a true Wolves fan, you can also buy a complete set of pucks with each player’s autograph for $200.

The Valentine’s Day puck is not only a great gift, it also benefits charity, which makes you look like a great person.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Chicago Wolves charities, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the United Cerebral Palsy Fund, a cause close to head coach Don Lever’s heart.

“My son is 30 years old and has cerebral palsy. He is physically and mentally handicapped and our pride and joy,” said Lever. “As a family, we are very aware and thankful for those who try to raise money for people with handicaps.”
