Commercial Chicago Real Estate Market to be Addressed at Summit

February 18, 2011

Want to know who is succeeding in Chicago’s retail industry? If the answer is yes, then there is an upcoming conference you’ll want to attend.

The Bisnow Chicago Retail Summit is set for Wednesday, February 23 in the Oak Room of the Metropolitan Club in Chicago’s Willis Tower.

Many small stores and restaurants had a hard time getting through the recession. Even some department stores are surviving only on special coupons and sales.

On the other side, Chicago’s downtown area is surging with urban street retail housing, cool boutiques, fusion restaurants and new clubs.

The Chicago Retail Summit will address the successes out there, touching on such subjects as:

Retail Summit*Who is growing and expanding

*How have developers altered their marketing plans

*How much of their sales are online

Featured speakers at the summit are top retail players throughout Chicago, including:

*Ross Glickman, principal and CEO of Urban Retail Properties

*Jason Friedman, EVP of Friedmand Properties

*Andy Hochberg, managing principal of Next Realty

*Rob Rowe, principal at Sierra

*Scott Carr, president of Inland Commercial Property Management

The summit will be moderated by David Pezza, a partner with Pircher, Nicols & Meeks. The real estate law firm, which is co-sponsoring the event, has represented buyers and sellers in more than $35 billion of real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including the sale of Chicago’s Water Tower Place.
