Chicago Real Estate Market on NAR Bus Tour

February 19, 2011

Owning Chicago real estate is so beneficial that a team of REALTORS will be traveling here by bus to drive that point home.

According to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), “studies show that home ownership has a significant positive impact on net worth, educational achievement, civic participation, health and overall quality of life.”

NAR busTo promote the benefits of home ownership, an NAR leadership team will embark on a three-city bus tour in March.

The Home Ownership Matters campaign will begin in Chicago, then move on to Denver, Colorado, before heading to Portland, Oregon.

In each city, the team will host town-hall meetings where REALTORS and residents can address the issues that matter to them most.

The tour will also visit a home show taking place in each town to address the public on such issues as:

*Preserving the mortgage interest deduction

*The Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac situation

*The importance and benefits of home ownership

The Home Ownership Matters tour begins in Chicago on March 4 with 2011 NAR President-Elect Moe Veissi.

The time and location of the REALTOR town hall meeting has yet to be announced.

On March 5, the NAR group will visit the Chicago Flower & Garden Show at Navy Pier from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
