Go Inside Chicago Real Estate With A Free Tour

March 03, 2011

You are a Chicago resident, but how much do you really know about our fare city?

Here’s a chance to see Chicago with an expert for free.

Chicago Detours offers cultural and historical walking tours exploring the city’s architecture, art, history, food, entertainment, politics and city life.

The group creates multimedia tour experiences through photographs, videos and historical quotes, all through the use of an iPad.

Want to try it out? How about doing it for free? Go to the Chicago Detours Facebook page and “like” them, and you will get a free tour of Chicago on Fridays at 10 a.m. through March 18 with the coupon code COOLPEOPLE!

Normally, the cost is $20.

The current tour is called The Loop: Explore Without Freezing. Participants are led through interiors of Loop buildings and use secret shortcuts and underground passages to stay inside.

Sounds pretty cool!

The tours run Wednesday through Sunday and meet just inside the southeast entrance of Chase Tower, 10 S. Dearborn, Chicago. While the group says they won’t be outside for more than five minutes at a time, know that Sunday’s tours go outside slightly more.

Come on, Chicago residents, isn’t it time you really get to know our great city?

Visit for more information, after you like them on Facebook, of course!

Tracey – thanks for the post! Please make sure it’s clear that these tours included engaging commentary by educated guides, and the iPads are used for the visual media. (Sounds a little like it’s just the iPads!). Many thanks.

Now our readers know that from the tour guide’s own mouth! Thanks, Amanda! According to the comments on your Facebook page, you are an excellent guide!
