Last Day to Celebrate Chicago’s Ethnic Communities at the Pier

April 02, 2011

So? Have you had a chance to learn about different neighborhoods of the world in Chicago yet?

Navy Pier has been hosting a celebration of Chicago’s diverse ethnic communities in a tribute entitled, “Neighborhoods of the World.”

We recently told you about this event, which has occurred each Sunday since February 5. If you have yet to check it out, you’ll have one more opportunity tomorrow during the final celebration.

On Sunday, April 3, Navy Pier presents GermanChicagoNow, which has been made possible thanks to Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood in cooperation with the Dank-Haus German American Cultural Center and the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce.

The day will include performances by Pieptone!, Paloma Band, Amazonen, Fanfaren Corps of Chicago, BGTV D’Lustigen Holzhacker Buam, Egerlander Tanzgruppe and Amazing Mike.

There will also be authentic cuisine, folk art, colorful costumes and community vendors on site to celebrate this event.
