Homeowners from all over the Chicago area can benefit from a mall show in a Southwest suburb this weekend.

The Orland Park Home Show provides a forum for homeowners and contractors to talk one-on-one about home improvement and remodeling projects.

There will be hundreds of exhibits and top professionals from some of the best known local and national home improvement and landscaping companies. You’ll find information on everything from basic services to high-end construction.

The event will offer giveaways, prizes, presentations, great food, celebrity guests, stuff for the kids, huge discounts on all products and services and more.

Admission is free and parking is free, so go check it out and get psyched about your home improvement project!

Where: Orland Square Mall, 288 Orland Square Dr., Orland Park

When: Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If it’s landscaping you want to concentrate on, you’ll be thrilled to know that the Chicago Park District is hosting two plant sales this weekend.

*The Fundraising Plant Sale at Warren Park will feature more than 10 varieties of organic tomatoes, herbs, hostas and other perennials.

The event is co-sponsored by Indian Boundary Park Advisory Council and The Northtown Garden Society. Admission is free.

*The Kilbourn Park Organic Greenhouse will sell more than 150 varieties of vegetable, herb and flower seedlings during its Annual Plant Sale.

Admission is free, but if you want to buy some plants, bring cash; that’s all that will be accepted. In addition, organizers are asking patrons to help the environment by bringing their own tray or box for carrying plants.
