Chicago-based TV Show Looking to Cast Extras

May 29, 2011

A new television drama is being filmed in the Chicago area, and its producers are hiring extras.

The show is called “Boss” and stars Kelsey Grammer as the mayor of Chicago. It has been taping around the Chicago area for the past few weeks and will continue in upcoming weeks.

The local angle seems to be a dominant theme to the show: Isn't that a picture of Lincoln behind Grammer?

The new show is set to air in October on Starz.

Want to be in it?

Casting directors placed an ad on Craigslist for extras. Here’s part of the ad:

“The rate of pay for an extra on “Boss” is $75/8 hours and time and a half after 8 hours. People who have been cast so far are having a wonderful time on set and are meeting great new friends in their fellow extras.”

They are looking for all types of people, but most pressingly, they want parents to work a PTA scene on June 1.

They are also searching for men who have tuxedos.

To be considered, send a recent color photograph with your phone number, and all your stats (height, weight, clothing sizes) to:

The ad says that all photos will be kept on file, so even if you don’t get this gig, you could get called for another one.
