There is so much going on around the Chicago area this weekend, that Chicago Real Estate Forum had to divide it up into several posts.

The Hunger Walk, which raises awareness and funds for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, has grown into one of the largest hunger-relief events in Chicago.

The 26th-annual fundraiser features a 5K walk along the lakefront at Soldier Field, 1410 Museum Campus Drive, on Saturday, June 25 at 8:15 a.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

There will also be live entertainment and activities for kids. Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The money raised will help Food Depository agency partners provide nutritious food to one in eight Cook County residents in need each year. This year’s walk hopes to top last year’s attendance of 6,000.

This bi-annual show is a friendly market for home improvement and remodeling. There will be tons of exhibits, giveaways, drawings, prizes, food and kid’s events.

Parking is free and admission is free. Hours are Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

One of the most prestigious art festivals in the Midwest is in town this weekend.

The Fountain Square Arts Festival in downtown Evanston is set for Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Featuring more than 225 artists, the fest is the largest and oldest juried fine arts fairs on Chicago’s North Shore.

There will also be a children’s art tent, strolling musicians, a jazz-centric music lineup and cuisine from the area’s best.

Love strawberries? The fruit is being touted this weekend during the annual Strawberry Festival in historic Long Grove.

chocolate covered strawberriesThe grandaddy of Long Grove’s signature festivals, the Strawberry Fest is set for Friday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Besides the delicious berry, the weekend will feature live music, ice cream eating contests, kids rides and activities, and more. A $2 donation is requested at the gate, but there is free parking.

Lowe’s is hosting one of its Build and Grow Clinics for kids at all its stores on Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m.
