Mr. Fix-It Wants to Fix Your Chicago Home

July 03, 2011

My dream is to have a home improvement expert come in to my Chicago real estate and fix the place up. For free, of course.

Now I actually might have that chance, and you do too.

Chicago’s Lou Manfredini is taking his Mr. Fix-It show on the road and into the homes of six lucky local winners.

Lou Manfredini stands with the third winners, John and Wendi, in front of their Palatine home last month.

Lou’s Home Invasion is a series of broadcasts of the Mr. Fix-It Show that take place live from listeners’ homes. He has already gone to three homes, but there are three more opportunities for you to win.

All you have to do is sign up.

Not only will Lou broadcast live from your home, the winners will also get a $1,000 credit with Galaxie Home Remodeling toward the home improvement project of their choice, along with a free heating and cooling tune-up from Comfort24-7.com and a pair of quilted, embroidered bathrobes valued at $30 apiece.

The upcoming shows will be broadcast on August 27, September 24 and November 12. The remodeling project you choose will be performed on the day of the broadcast.

You should know that you will be responsible for any labor and materials over the $1,000.

You should also know that the show begins at 6 in the morning and that WGN Radio will come to your home at 2 a.m. to set up.

It’s still worth it.

You can enter once a day through October 17, but you must live in a single-family home in the Chicago area, which includes the counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will. No condo or apartment dwellers, unfortunately.

Ready to enter? Visit wgnradio.com. Or don’t: The less of you that enter, the better chance I’ll have to win!
