Merger to Create Largest Realtor Association in State

July 20, 2011

A consolidation of two Chicago real estate groups will create one of the largest Realtor associations in the country.

Members who belong to the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® (MORe) and the REALTOR® Association of NorthWest Chicagoland (RANWC) this week approved the merger of the two groups.

Once merged, the new group will become the largest REALTOR® association in the state and the fourth largest in the country.

Downers Grove-based MORe has 11,500 members and operates offices in Naperville and Tinley Park. RANWC is based in Arlington Heights and has offices in Libertyville and northwest Chicago.

Together, the new group, which will retain the Mainstreet name, will include 16,000 members serving more than 185 communities throughout Cook, DuPage and Lake Counties in Illinois.

The merger will become complete on October 1. Once accomplished, the move should lower costs and expand services to members.

That’s going to be one metro Chicago real estate powerhouse.

“We will be able to enhance service to our members, while putting our organization in an extremely solid position moving forward,” said Mainstreet President Christine Chase.

“Pending home sales are up nationwide, and we want to be ready when the market turns.”
