Free Health Fair for Chicago Students

A pediatric hospital is doing its part to help younger Chicago residents get healthy.

Children’s Hospital University of Illinois is hosting a free back-to-school health fair on the UIC campus this Tuesday, August 16.

Pediatricians will be on hand offering back-to-school healthy and safety tips and performing:

stethoscope in shape of a heart*School physicals

*Vision screenings

*Dental screenings

*Health counseling on nutrition, diabetes, asthma and sickle cell disease.

The first 500 children will receive a goody bag with school supplies.

All families will get health education materials and access to community resources.

NOTE: Try to bring your child’s immunization records with you.

The health fair will be attended by several Chicago politicians, including:

*Alderman Danny Solis, 25th Ward

*Alderman George Cardenas, 12th Ward

*Alderman Lona Lane, 18th Ward

*State Sen. Kwame Raoul, 13th District

Julian Posada, owner and president of the Chicago Fire, will also be on hand.

Every child should get to start off the school year on a happy, healthy note. Take advantage of this free health fair.
