Tailgating Inside Your McHenry County New Homes

Just look outside the window of your McHenry County new homes and you can already tell that the weather is beginning to change, bringing with it the excitement of football season. However, there’s no need to leave the comforts of your abode to enjoy the game. Instead of fighting the unpredictable fall weather, why not bring the tailgating indoors and host your own party?

Below are some tips and ideas to help you entertain your diehard football fans (and those who are just looking for some free food).

Nothing says fall like homemade chili: There’s nothing better than a bowl of hot chili on a crisp fall day. The smells wafting from your stovetop are sure to bring your friends over for the big game (plus, it’s an inexpensive way to feed a large group of people). Set up a chili bar with yummy toppings such as shredded cheese, diced green onions, sour cream, jalapenos, crackers and anything else your heart desires. Or, for a more traditional tailgating experience, gril lout.

Make sure to have plenty of comfortable seating, your friends will thank you: No one wants to sit through a whole game in an uncomfortable folding chair. If you’re living room sofa can’t accommodate all your guests, throw some beanbag chairs, pillows and blankets on the floor. If nothing else, it’ll be a great place to stretch out after you’ve stuffed yourself full of yummy homemade chili.

Consider the kids (and adults) who may not be that into the game: I know it’s hard to believe, but we’re not all diehard football fans! So, to cut back on how much you hear the dreaded phrase, “I’m bored,” create a space for those who aren’t so dedicated to the game with a card/board game table, movie or video games.

And, the last tip that we’ll offer is to make sure you have a comfortable home for entertaining! To help you with your entertaining needs, we offer McHenry, Poplar Grove, Williams Bay and Richmond new homes that provide the perfect space for your indoor tailgating party.

With both ranch and two-story homes available, you’re sure to find one that suits your needs. Visit the Gerstad Builders website for information about our locations, floor plans and office hours.
