Ex-Hawk Lists New Construction Before Completion

October 17, 2011

Rarely in this tough economy do we find a Chicago new home for sale. Not only do we have one to tell you about, but it’s one that can be classified under a category we like to call “famous metro Chicago real estate.”

Former Chicago Blackhawk Jassen Cullimore has listed his nearly completed mansion in Hinsdale for sale at $2.499 million.

Cullimore, who played for the Blackhawks from 2004-2007 and a little last season, paid $400,000 in 2009 for the lot in the western suburb of Chicago where he built this 6,130-square-foot stone-and-brick residence.

An interested buyer could choose the final touches to the Battaglia Homes-built estate, which offers seven bedrooms, six full baths and three half baths, a second-floor laundry room, three fireplaces, a library, an exercise room, a game room, a screened-in porch, an entrance foyer, an unfinished attic, a finished basement, a large backyard and a three-car garage.

The three-story home, at 5509 S. Washington Street, is located steps away from Hinsdale Central High School.

Not sure what to tell you about the taxes: The 2009 bill was a mere $5,748, but that will surely change with this newly constructed home on the lot.

Cullimore, 38, a native of Canada, never got to live in his new metro Chicago home. He now plays for an ice hockey team in Germany.
