Young Architects: This One’s for You

November 19, 2011

Got a budding Frank Lloyd Wright or Mies van der Rohe living in your Chicago real estate?

The Chicago Architecture Foundation is hosting a free architectural workshop for children ages 3 through 12 and their adult companions on November 20 during CAFamily Studio Sunday.

The theme of Sunday’s workshop is Building Perspectives, where participants will learn how architects sketch out ideas to make them look three dimensional and why objects appear to change size depending on where you stand to look at them. Kids will get to pose for fun photos with their structures in a special photo booth, too.

CAFamily Studio Sundays takes place the third Sunday of each month with hands-on activities, tours, stories and more for families.

The event will take a break in December and return January 15 with a program about designing and constructing moveable puppets and shadow theaters.
