Sure, we all know about writing a will and choosing an executor, but how many have thought about medical decisions? A living will can set arrangements like organ donations and there are many other forms and options to consider, including the do not resuscitate order, setting a healthcare proxy to make decisions for you if you are incapacitated and more. These forms vary state to state, and it is best to talk to both a medical attorney and your health care provider to make these plans in advance.

What about your funeral? In the time of grief following your passing, questions like what kind of service you would have liked, speeches, musical arrangements and many more questions can be daunting for your family. Even worse, your family may feel pressure to purchase expenses that are unnecessary. You can plan ahead to avoid these challenges for your loved ones by consulting a funeral director early for expenses and including your wishes for the ceremony in your will.
