Home Store Hiring Now

January 14, 2012

Winter just officially hit Chicago, but one home improvement store is already focusing on Spring, and that means the creation of jobs.

The Home Depot announced that it will hire 70,000 seasonal workers across the country to get ready for the retailer’s busiest season of the year. That includes more than 2,000 positions in the Chicago area.

Home-Depot-EmployeeThe company said about half of the store’s 2011 seasonal hires stayed on permanently in such positions as cashier, lot associates and garden associates.

“Just as the Christmas rush and holiday hiring ends for many retailers, we begin recruiting for spring seasonal associates to help customers during our busiest selling season,” said Tim Crow, executive vice president for Human Resources. “And a seasonal job at The Home Depot can often lead to a regular position if you’re passionate about customer service.”‘

The world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, with 2,252 retail stores in all 50 states, The Home Depot will usher in the Spring season with door-buster prices on hundreds of products, including lawn care, eco-friendly gardening items, patio and grill accessories and more: Everything to set up your Chicago real estate in style.

Hiring for the seasonal positions will take place over the next several weeks. If you are interested, you can apply online at Careers.HomeDepot.com.
