Lexington Square: Chicago New Homes for Budding Families

February 09, 2012

stork with babyIf you are looking for a family-friendly community of Chicago new homes where you can raise children, look no further than Lexington Square. This new development of 39 single-family row homes by Lexington Homes is experiencing quite a few visits from the stork!

Almost half of the homeowners in the community are proud parents of newborns and toddlers. “We have at least 15 families at our community, including nine newborns born since June, plus a few other expecting moms due very soon. We also have six other families with young children,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes.

With so many budding families, Lexington Square is such a desirable Chicago community for raising children. Residents especially enjoy play groups. “Many of us decorated our homes for Halloween, then we trick-or-treated as one big group. Even the neighbors who weren’t home left candy outside. We feel welcomed even by neighbors who don’t have kids,” said resident Melissa Hernandez.

The 39 Chicago new homes in Lexington Square range from 2,216 to 2,507 square feet and are priced from the $370s. Each three-story home encompasses three bedrooms and an additional family room that could easily be converted into an extra bedroom. Homes have two-and-a-half bathrooms and attached two-car garages. Each home comes with its own private rooftop deck with views of the city skyline, a fenced-in front yard and oversized balconies off of the open kitchens.

“It’s a lot of fun to see all the young faces, and the families are already developing close relationships and friendships between the parents and children,” he said. “Many of our other homebuyers are newlyweds, so we expect the baby boom to continue for some time, “Benach said.
