Happy World Happy Day!

February 10, 2012

Hurray! Saturday, February 11 is World Happy Day!

On that day, thousands of people in communities across the globe are expected to join together to begin their journeys toward healthier and happier lives.

Unsurprisingly, research has shown that happy people are healthier and live longer, are more likely to care about the environment and are less likely to commit crimes.

In return, research shows that people who have strong relationships with their friends, neighbors and communities are happier people.

Happy people can only strengthen communities. So how can we be happier?

People all over the globe are expected to spend World Happy Day coming together to view the film “HAPPY,” a documentary that follows the journey across five continents in search of the keys to happiness.

There are scheduled showings of the film, which has already won numerous awards, all over the world from Chicago to Cambodia to Antarctica.

There are several showings in the Chicago area:

*AMC River East in Chicago

*AMC Village Crossing in Skokie

*AMC Northbrook in Northbrook

*AMC Naperville in Naperville

*AMC Yorktown in Lombard

“Our goal is for people all around the world to come together, on the same day, start the conversation about happiness and begin to live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives,” said Roko Belic, the film’s Academy Award nominated director.

“The desire for happiness is universal. The sources are much more common and attainable than many of us believe. It is exciting to share this film and the cutting-edge research with people all over the world. It is even better to know they will be sharing it with each other, too.”

If you want to talk about being happy from the comfort of your own Chicago real estate, there will be one such discussion taking place online at vimeo.com.
