April 23, 2012

Even though this past winter brought little to complain about throughout the City of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs due to mild weather, everyone is thrilled to see Spring making a comeback. With the arrival of the new season, remodeling is in the air for many Chicagoland homeowners. What better time to start thinking about making changes to your home than during National Painting Week taking place April 16-23, 2012.

What is the most pressing need that homeowners have regarding the upkeep of their property? Painting wins that home upgrade battle hands down, with 50% of homeowners focusing on throwing some fresh paint on their walls to spruce up the place. Landscaping and remodeling a room make up the list of favored home improvement projects.

Don’t get caught up in thinking that painting is only for walls. There are numerous aspects to your home that a little paint could breath new life into.

“Painting can add energy and liven up any home – whether is it revamping the bedroom, giving new life to an old piece of furniture or staining the deck,” said Jackie Jordan, director of color marketing, Sherwin-Williams.

Painting a room, adding some color outside to improve your home’s curb appeal or just bringing out a dull room’s potential with some detailed trimming can bring out the best in your property. All it takes is some imagination and there is no better time to explore what paint can do for your home than during  National Painting Week.
