O’Hare Construction Job Fair This Week

May 13, 2012

The key to a housing recovery is a stable job market, so we like to bring our readers information on opportunities as we find them, and it just so happens that we found a project at a Chicago real estate hub that needs general contractors.

The Terminal 5 concessions area at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport is being redeveloped and there will be an opportunity fair this week to find construction workers for the project, which includes expanding and renovating the existing concessions area and relocating the TSA checkpoint.

The McHugh/Ornelas Joint Venture, in conjunction with Westfield Concession Management, will be hosting an opportunity fair on Tuesday, May 15 for qualified subcontractors in union trades such as demolition, concrete, steel, doors and hardware, carpentry, tile and terrazzo flooring, toilet accessories, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.

Firms that are certified MBE or WBE should bring a copy of their current certification.

There is a morning and an afternoon session on Tuesday; applicants should attend just one.
