Attention Builders: Submit your entries for the Best in American Living Awards

As of June 1, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is accepting entries for the the Best in American Living Awards (BALA).

NAHB LogoThe BALA’s is the nation’s premier award program continually redefining design excellence for the entire residential building industry.  It spotlights the most creative and innovative builders, remodelers, architects, developers, land planners and interior designers in the nation. Every year, the awards program, sponsored by NAHB Design Committee, recognizes good design in single-family and multifamily homes of all types and sizes, communities, interior design, remodeling and rental developments.

The categories for best design in single-family homes include:

  • Detached Home up to 2,000 sq. ft, Home built for sale.
  • Detached Home 2001-3000 sq. ft, Home built for sale.
  • Detached Home 3001-4000 sq ft, Home Built for Sale.
  • Detached Home over 4001 sq ft, Home Built for Sale.
  • One-of-a-Kind Home up to 4,000 sq ft.
  • One-of-a-Kind Home 4001-6500 sq. ft.
  • One-of-a-Kind Home over 6501 sq ft.
  • Attached, Home Built for Sale.
  • Green-Built Home

Nine regions across the country are eligible to enter the contest. The Midwest region includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The entry deadline is September 4, 2012.

The winners will be announced at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas on January 23, 2013. Winners will be showcased in Builder Magazine and will featured throughout the year in publications around the country and in several NAHB Publications and social media outlets.

Chicago-based recipients of BALA’s in 2011 include Environs Development Inc. and architect/designer Kenneth Brinkman.
