June 10, 2012

The Admiral at the Lake, a 31-story continuing care retirement community, is set to reopen in July. The original Admiral at the Lake opened in 1858. It is Chicago’s oldest nonprofit organization focused on senior living.

The New Admiral at the LakeTorn down in 2007, the new Admiral at the Lake features 200 apartment, including one- to three-bedroom units with many offering views of Lake Michigan and downtown. The $200 million senior living center will be located at the corner of Foster Avenue and Marine Drive. This prime Chicago real estate location offers easy access to a plethora of Chicago’s most popular attractions including Foster Beach, the famous Green Mill Jazz Club, Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo, the Andersonville Restaurant Row, Briar Street Theater and many more.

“The Admiral at the Lake is resident-focused living,” said CEO Glenn Brichacek. “We will have residents involved in as many areas of the planning and activities as possible. From the former librarian who is organizing the bookshelves in the new library to the famed artist who will line the hallways with works of art, this is community driven by and for residents.”
