Tenants will be moving around the one-stop luxury design resource to make showrooms better organized and easier to navigate for Chicago real estate owners and residents looking for the best in interior design. Over 60 residential home and casual furnishings tenants will be relocating, many to the newly-renovated 14th floor, which is now exclusively for Design Center tenants. The 15th and 16th floors will house casual/outdoor tenants.

According to a statement by The Merchandise Mart, “More than 115 showrooms, representing 2,500 of the finest product lines, will span floors 6, 14, 15, and 16 featuring the best in luxury home furnishings, outdoor furnishings, rugs, lighting, fabric, accessories, art and much more.”

Fourteenth floor tenants will include HOLLY HUNT, David Sutherland, Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman, J.Robert Scott, Jean de Merry, Century, Hickory Chair, Dessin Fournir, JANUS et Cie and Henredon and the 15th floor will feature premium outdoor furniture brands like Brown Jordan, Pride Family Brands, Tropitone, Lane Venture, Woodard, Gloster, Treasure Garden and more.

The move was orchestrated by renowned industry architect and Design Center tenant, Gary Lee Partners, to “create the new, bright and open corridor layout, allowing visitors who patronize the Design Center to see our showrooms spotlighted among an improved aesthetic,” says John H. Brennen III, executive vice president, MMPI.

The renovation includes the construction of an amenity center, which will feature a conference area, lounge, café and audio/visual display area and will be open weekdays this winter.
