Green Home Appraisal Expert Coming to Chicagoland

September 02, 2012

Chicago real estate professionals, builders, architects, and appraisers are invited to join the Alliance for Environmental Sustainability, who is bringing the leading national expert on appraising energy efficient /green homes to Chicagoland, in partnership with the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago and Northern Illinois Home Builders Association.

LEED Chicago new home sold

World's First LEED Platinum and NGBS Emerald Remodel recently sold in Chicagoland using MRED's Green MLS fields, MLS#:07802618, List Price:$153,000

Sandy Adomatis, who helped create the Appraisal Institute’s Green Addendum, will be discussing the factors driving green home values. This is a timely topic with recent news that more green homes are being listed in the local Chicago area, and as we hear anecdotal evidence that third party certified homes are receiving a price premium. One local homeowner reported a 20 percent value increase by an appraiser of their green home after achieving LEED certification!

In this free event, Ms. Adomatis will discuss the green appraisal addenda and help real estate professionals, builders, and others learn how appraisers are approaching green homes. Additionally, local market data will be presented by a Chicagoland appraiser, Michael Hobbs of Pahroo Appraisals.
